Our Story

Colibri was born from a simple, powerful question:
“What if you could pick something up, flip a page, or brush your teeth — just by biting down?”

Like many ideas that matter, it started close to home. A friend living with quadriplegia described how even the smallest actions — like turning a page or reaching for a cloth — required help. Not because they were impossible, but because the tools to make them possible didn’t exist.

We didn’t want to build a high-tech solution only a few could afford.
We wanted to build something elegant, low-tech, and human — something you could put in your mouth and suddenly feel a little more in control.

That’s how Colibri began: a modular, mouth-operated tool that’s simple to use, easy to customize, and designed to restore independence in daily life.

Our Values

Dignity First

We design tools that restore confidence and self-reliance.

Function Over Flash

Simple, reliable solutions that work — no unnecessary complexity.

Co-Creation

We listen to real users and build with their input at every step.

Accessibility by Design

Our tools are made to be affordable, adaptable, and easy to use.

Empathy in Action

Every decision starts with asking: “Does this truly help someone?”

Progress, Not Perfection

We improve iteratively, guided by real feedback — not assumptions.

What Drives Us

We believe accessibility doesn’t have to be complicated.
We believe that real innovation listens first.
We believe in tools that fit into life — not take it over.

With every turn, press, or lift, we aim to reduce reliance, restore choice, and return a sense of agency to people who’ve been told to wait for help. We design with them, not just for them.
